I know it's not very Spring-ish, but I imagine Trousers taking advantage of most of the other cats spending their time outside while she explores the mansion. 
This is also a very poor attempt at creating that "movie-scene" look.

     "Do you hear that? Nothing. Nothing at all, it's all quiet." a small voice whispered.
     A cat sat up from her spot on an old sofa, still groggy from a short nap and musing over her words. It was Spring time and most of the mansion's feline residents were spending this time outside. But not Trousers, oh no, she was going to enjoy the peace and quiet of the home. 
     With a stretch and a yawn, the young cat jumped from her oh-so-comfy sleeping spot and made her way towards a window across the room. Outside, many of the other cats were rolling in flower beds, chasing butterflies, and so on. Trousers watched them for a bit while she decided on what she should do for the day. She looked back at the cozy room and then at the doors leading out of the room. 
     Aha!
     She had decided it was time to explore since she hadn't quite had the chance yet. There were so many rooms in the mansion that she didn't even know where to start. So, after a moment of thought, she chose and random door and started her indoor-adventure. Trousers found it to be amazing that it was so silent in such a huge home, and for a short while it felt like she ruled the place. She would stop and admire the smallest of things in the home, one of those things being a small web on a potted tree in the house. She stared at it for a while, wondering whether the weaver of the little web was to come back.
